Hudson Players "Something's Afoot" Provides Killer Humor, Lots of Fun and
Good Time
Show delivers laughs, gadgets and fun evening of entertainment

The Hudson Players musical-comedy-mystery spoof "Something's Afoot", at the
Barlow Community Center at 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson is a crowd favorite
with it's great humor, fun gadgets and killer songs! This unique show leaves
audiences with smiles on the faces, laughter in the aisles and songs in
their heads and is not to be missed. One audience member was heard to state
"I hated Cats but this show was lots of fun!" (Okay they didn't really say
that but they could have.and did say the lots of fun part). More information
and tickets are available at www.hudsonplayers.com
<http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , or by calling 330-655-8522.

"Something's Afoot," pokes light hearted fun at the murder mystery genre,
touching all the well known detective story favorites and substituting humor
and fun end of the road devices for all the well know ones. Remaining
performances are scheduled for February 15, 16, 17*, 22 & 23 with book,
music and lyrics by James McDonald, David Vos and Robert Gerlach and
additional music by Ed Linderman.

While all about poking fun at traditional murder mysteries (and even paying
a little homage to them) the story involves a group of people who are
invited to the lake estate of Lord Dudley Rancour. When the wealthy lord is
found dead, its a race against the clock to find out whodunit. Nominated for
the Oliver Award as Best Musical of the Year, the show immediately makes it
clear, "The Butler Didn't Do It," and is sure to provide a uniquely
entertaining and laugh filled evening. Stranded during a raging thunderstorm
(like in all good mysterys), one by one the guests are picked off by odd,
yet cleverly fiendish and amusing devices (shrunken heads shooting poison
darts, etc). Filled with booby-traps and belted songs this hilarious spoof
hums along as the audience plays armchair detective to a zany cast of
characters.

The Hudson Players are an all volunteer non-profit community theater
organization and one of the longest running theater troupes in the area.
Next up is a production of "Littles Shop of Horrors" to open April 26.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with a variety of tasks including
publicity, poster distribution, set building, costumes and more. Auditions
to their shows are open to all with no restrictions. Additional information
is available at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by
