FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Auditions for Rabbit Run Theater's 2013 Summer
Season

 

Audition information is now available for the 2013 summer season at Rabbit
Run Theater in Madison, Ohio.  Rabbit Run "Goes to the Movies" as all of the
productions for the summer are plays that have been block-buster movies over
the years.

 

The productions for the summer are Steel Magnolias, How to Succeed in
Business Without Really Trying (Young Adult Production), The Sound of Music
and The 39 Steps.

 

Steel Magnolias, written by Robert Harling, runs from May 31 to June 8.
Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 23, 1 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 24, 1:30 to 4
p.m.  There are six roles available for women ages 18 to 70.  Actors will
read from the script, and do not need to prepare a monologue.  The show is
directed by Nancy Shimonek Brooks.

 

How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying opens June 14 as Rabbit
Run's Young Adult Production and runs through June 30.  With music and

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Weinstock> Jack Weinstock, and

in Business  has multiple roles available for young adults in high school or
college.  

 

Actors auditioning for How To Succeed should be prepared to sing 16 measures
of a Broadway-style song.  Please bring sheet music for accompaniment; no
pre-recorded accompaniment.  Dress comfortably for movement.

 

Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 23, and Sunday, Mar. 24, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
both days.  The show is directed by Brint Learned with musical direction by
Roberta Whitely and choreography by Jennifer Leinweber Ritz.

 

The Sound of Music, with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar
Hammerstein II, and based on the book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse,
runs from July 12 through Aug. 3.

 

There are multiple roles available for male and female adults.  Six roles
for children ages 5 through 16 are available with an additional two roles,
one male and one female, available for young adults ages 16 through 20.

 

Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 23, and Sunday, Mar. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. both
days.  Actors should be prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style
song.  Please bring sheet music for accompaniment; no pre-recorded
accompaniment.

 

The Sound of Music is directed by Sandy Kosovich Peck.  Musical direction to
be announced.

 

The 39 Steps, by Patrick Barlow and John Buchan, runs from Aug. 16 through
Aug. 31.  There are four roles available for men and women.  Actors should
be comfortable portraying multiple roles, male and female, ages 25 to 50.

 

Actors auditioning will read from the script and do not need to prepare a
monologue.  Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 23, and Sunday, Mar. 24, 1 to 4
p.m. both days.  The 39 Steps is directed by Ann Hedger.  

 

All auditions are at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, 49 Park St.,

Rabbit Run Theater is one of the few barn theaters remaining in Ohio and is
open every summer from the beginning of June through the end of August.  The
theater is located at 5648 W. Chapel Rd., Madison.  

 

RRCAA is a comprehensive fine arts association offering year-round
instruction in all the major disciplines of the fine and performing arts and
also operates Rabbit Run Theater.  Partial funding is provided by the Ohio
