International Women's Day is a global women's activity celebrated in
countries around the world. It has been in existence since 1911 and
attended by over one million people. On March 8, the United Nations
delivered a formal message and the United States designated the whole month
of March as Women History Month in 2011. IWD is viewed as an official
holiday in approximately 25 countries.

Northeast Ohio's International Women' Day Celebration is a day of education
and cultural exchange. We want women to leave the event with an expanded
circle of acquaintances, a better understanding of other cultures and a
renewed spirit of how to empower themselves.
