Enjoy a tropical escape at the Medina Performing Arts Center

Medina, Ohio – Winter doldrums got you down?  How about an evening of steel drum music to transport you to memories of beaches and warm tropical breezes? The Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Road, will host the Kent State steel drum ensemble Flash in the Pan, March 8 at 7p on the Medina High School Middle Stage.

Flash In the Pan blends tradition and technology into a unique island sound. The band is directed by Ted Rounds playing the Mallet Kat, and comprised mainly of percussion students from Kent State University. Since 1995, “Flash” has been performing for audiences at events throughout the Akron and Cleveland area. The ensemble performs calypso, soca, reggae, and bossa nova tunes that are typical of the Caribbean and South America.
