Come join us and learn the art of decorating Psyanki (beautiful) eggs. For
centuries people have been using this dye and wax method to create mini
works of art. Colors and symbols hold special meaning to the Ukrainian
people.

During the class you will walk through each step to make your own egg to
take with you at the end of class. You'll learn the basics about drawing on
the egg, applying wax with the "kistka, dying and finally removing wax.

Please wear comfortable clothing and *no children under the age of 10 years
old. *(We will be using candles!)

Teacher *Melissa Wargo-Geesen* is a Music Therapist by occupation but loves
doing art as well. She grew up in the Cleveland area where she was an
active member of Church of the Saviour. Melissa learned how to do Ukrainian
Eggs from a neighbor when she was teenager.

Approximately 17 years ago she picked the art back up and couldn't put it
down. She often describes it as "a hobby that has gone hay-wire!" Since the
mid-90's she has made nearly 10,000 egg items including eggshell jewelry.
She has been in various art shows and had her work featured at local
galleries.

*Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road, one block north of
Fairmount Blvd. in Cleveland Heights. The church has free parking and is
handicapped-accessible.*
