A HAPPENING ON IMPERIAL
“In order to be a missing person, Does someone have to miss you?”

Akron, Ohio--Who is a victim? This is the primary question explored in the
play, *A Happening on Imperial*. This performance workshop is being
produced by Ma’Sue Productions, University of Akron’s Truth Be Told and
sponsored by The Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC).* *The
show was written by India Burton, Yulia Gray, and John Dayo-Aliya.

The show takes an in-depth and at times raw survey of life in inner city
east Cleveland specifically regarding the crimes of Anthony Sowell who has
often been referred to in the media as “The Cleveland Strangler”. The Focus
is not only on the crimes of Sowell but it also explores the impact his
crimes had on the larger east side Cleveland community.

The play will be held at the Balch Street Theatre, 220 South Balch Street,
Akron, Ohio 44302. Production dates are March 21st -23rd at 8 pm and a
Saturday matinee at 2pm. Each performance will be followed with a talk back
