Lakeland’s annual “Free College Day” debuts at the Holden University
Center March 23
KIRTLAND, Ohio - As a way to give back to the community, Lakeland will
offer free, 45-minute, noncredit classes that will be open to the public.
The “Free College Day” event will be this Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m.
to noon.
This is the first year that the event will be held at the Holden
University Center building directly across from the main college entrance
on route 306.
More than a dozen courses with topics ranging from starting a small
business, to wartime poetry and mobile apps will be offered.
Participants can also attend a Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO)
session for high school students looking to take their junior or senior
year at Lakeland, or attend a book sale at the Library (located on the
third floor of the C Building on the main campus).
Along with these classes and special events, Lakeland will be serving a
free lunch for all participants at the Holden University Center.
Classes are subject to last minute changes and/or cancellations at the
discretion of the instructor.
About Lakeland Free College Day
Lakeland President Dr. Morris W. Beverage Jr. began Lakeland's Free
College Day in 2002 as a way to thank the community for its support and to
offer an open opportunity for all to see what’s available at the college.
Lakeland's Free College Day classes are sample classes that do not count
toward college credit but will provide participants with valuable
information.
Lakeland is located on Route 306 just south of the I-90 interchange. For
more information, call 440-525-7323.
