*MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD**, *conceived by Susan Rose & Joan Stein, will receive
its regional premiere at Actors’ Summit, Akron’s professional theater.  The
production will have a preview performance on Thursday, April 4 with the
official opening on Friday April 5.  The show will run for three weeks,
closing on April 21 at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron.


*MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD* is comprised of 18 short scenes and monologues
written by 14 of the most important contemporary authors working in film,
television and theater today.  From pregnancy to great grandmotherhood and
all the stages in between, the play explores the challenges that children
and parents face together.

Susan Rose and Joan Stein put out the call for authors to write something
for the project, they never anticipated needing to pare down to just 90
minutes over 50 individual submissions.  What resulted was a joyous,
moving, hilarious, and thrilling play with contributions by a dazzling
collection of celebrated American writers.  Utterly unpredictable, *MOTHERHOOD
OUT LOUD** *shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its
inherent comedy and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and
unite generations.

*The Playwrights*

The play is written by *Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth
Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco
Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman* and *Cheryl L. West.
**Their credits range from writing to producing to acting on Broadway, and
in film and television.*

In conjunction with the show, the theater is inviting people to tell us why
your mom is the “World’s Best Mom” in 100 words or less.  Actors’ Summit
wants to hear about your mom, your co-parent or your kid who is now a mom.
Essays can be emailed to Motherhood at actorssummit.org.  Entries must be
received by 5:00 p.m. on March 30th.**

*Ticket Information *

Individual ticket prices are $19 at the preview on April 4 and the Saturday
matinee on April 13.  On Thursdays and Sundays adults are $28 and seniors
over 65 are $25.  Opening Night, Friday, April 5 and all Saturdays are
$30.  Fridays are $28.  Full time students with ID under the age of 30 can
attend any performance for $9.  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances
are at 8:00 PM.  Sunday matinees are at 2:00 PM.**

The theater is located on the sixth floor of historic Greystone Hall in
downtown Akron.  The facility features barrier free access, free parking,
