Student-Directed One-Act Plays at Tri-C Metro

The Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus Theatre will feature
two student-directed one-act plays this spring.

The first is Woody Allen's God, a play within a farcical
play-within-a-play about a playwright and an actor trying to figure out
how to end their play and raising questions about existence. First
published in a 1975 story collection, God will be directed by Leslie
Lovelace.

The second is Cocoanut Soup at the Palace, or If the Marx Brothers Had
Performed Oedipus The King written by Thomas Hischak. It's a Burlesque
re-telling of the Oedipus Rex myth with the Marx Brothers in primary
roles. A serious chorus and an equally serious Jocasta add interest.
Asia Wyley directs the performance.

The plays will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 4 and 6 and 1:30 p.m.
April 7 at the Metropolitan Campus Studio Theatre, 2900 Community
College Ave., Cleveland. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for students,
seniors and Tri-C employees, and $5 for Tri-C students with valid ID.
They will be sold at the door. To reserve tickets, call 216-987-4211.
