*Urinetown Auditions*

The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will be holding auditions for their
summer musical, *Urinetown*, on Sunday, April 28 and Monday, April 29.
Registration will begin at 6:30pm with auditions beginning at 7:00pm.
Auditions will be held at The Little Theatre, 466 Carrie Ave. NW, New
Philadelphia, OH 44663.

A three-time Tony award winning production, *Urinetown* is a hilarious
musical which pokes fun at the legal system, capitalism, social
irresponsibility, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal
politics. The show also parodies musicals such as *The Cradle Will Rock*and
*Les Misérables*, and the Broadway musical itself as a form.

The story begins in a grim Gotham-like city of the future, where a 20-year
drought has occurred. As a result, the government has banned private
toilets and the citizens must use pay-to-pee toilets regulated by a
monopolistic company, the Urine Good Company, which charges exorbitant
prices. Bobby Strong, the assistant custodian at the poorest urinal in
town, decides enough is enough. With the help of the daughter of the CEO of
the Urine Good Company, Hope Cladwell, Bobby ends up leading a rebellion
which frees the citizens.

Roles are available for over 20 men and women ranging in age from high
school students through older adults. There are no children in this show.

All who are auditioning should be prepared to sing 16-24 bars of a song in
the style of the show. Please bring your own sheet music or vocal track. An
accompanist will be provided. All who audition will also be asked to read
from the script and do a brief movement audition. Please wear comfortable
clothing and footware.

Call backs, if needed, will be held on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00pm.

*Urinetown* will be performed June 28, 29, 30, July 5, 6, 7, 12, & 13.

If you have further questions about auditions, please contact the director,
