Kent State University at Stark Theatre presents an original play, Voices From Hurt Street



Kent State University at Stark is proud to present the original production of Voices From Hurt Street, written by Kent State Stark students. The performances will take place on April 19 and 20 at 8 p.m. and on April 21 at 2:30 p.m. in the Kent State Stark Theatre, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided for the performance on April 21 at 2:30 p.m.

Written by students from Kent State University at Stark's Devising Theatre course, this multi-genre theatre piece enacts true and personal stories of abusive relationships and social injustice that move the characters through the hopeful journey from hurt to healing. For mature audiences only due to sexual content and strong language.



Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $7 for non-Kent State students, children under 17 and senior citizens. All Kent State students are admitted free of charge with current student ID. Tickets may be obtained beginning Monday, April 1. Directing Voices From Hurt Street is Kent State Stark Assistant Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director Brian Newberg. Louis Williams is the scenic and lighting designer. Magan Mclaughlin is the costume designer and Ron Jarvis is the sound designer.
