EVENT: Last Weekend to See Dover Players' Adaptation of The Murder of Roger
Ackroyd

The Dover Players community theater group opens its 2013 season with an
adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The
director, Todd Evangelista, has adapted the murder mystery to suit our
location in the North Olmsted Old Town Hall, our actors and our budget. We
are the first version to use the gimmick Agatha Christie originally used and
feel she would find our play more faithful to her book than any other
version.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

Dr. James Sheppard always wanted a life of excitement but instead lives
quietly in a sleepy village where nothing much happens until Hercule Poirot
moves in. After a dinner party at Roger Ackroyd's, Dr. Sheppard arrives back
at his house and receives a phone call saying to return because Mr. Ackroyd
has been murdered. When he returns to Ackroyd's home, no one knows anything
about a murder or a phone call, but Roger Ackroyd has indeed been murdered.
The family sends for the retired Hercule Poirot who must solve his most
baffling case and find out who committed The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

Audience members will have a chance to match wits with the famous detective
by giving us your answers at intermission and the best answers will be read
at the end of the play.
