Cleveland Play House is currently seeking a Digital Media Apprentice for the 2013-2014 Season.

Cleveland Play House's new Apprenticeship program is a dynamic and engaging program for young professionals and future colleagues in the field. The apprenticeship introduces recently graduated college and post-graduate students in an intensive experience with a top-tier American theatre. Apprentices will work with individual departments and top professionals in the field to gain practical experiences and skills working in a regional theatre. Our central goal is to train future leaders that will transform the field.

The Digital Media Apprentice responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  *   Report to Marketing and Communications but work with all Cleveland Play House departments in the shooting, producing and editing of digital pictures and video for purposes of visual story telling and archiving at a variety of key events. Images and videos made by the intern may be used in signage, advertising, multimedia presentations, website, social network sites, lobby video displays or published in mail campaigns and brochures.


  *   Compress and encode media files for streaming or downloading, format digital photos for multiple purposes (hi-res for print and low-res for website); build, research or document digital image collections; properly label, log and archive digital photos and videotapes;


  *   Manage professional camera, production, and equipment software.




  *   Work with staff to ensure quality event coverage in terms of proper camera equipment and placement for professional production values and collaborate with the Marketing, Development, Artistic, and Education staff to guide and evaluate creative development of digital media projects.


  *   The intern will be provided with equipment and scripts. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Candidates: Must have photography, video production and editing experience. Potential candidates must be organized, resourceful, energetic and dedicated; multi-tasking is key! Candidates will be outgoing, patient and respectful to our patrons, artistic staff and talent while maintaining a professional demeanor working live events.

Apprentices are offered a weekly stipend.   The Apprenticeship program runs from August 18th, 2013-May 16th, 2014.
