The Akron Derbytown Chorus will perform "That's My Baby" at 7p, May 4 on the Main Stage of the Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Road, Medina. "Fatherhood" is the theme of the barbershop-style show which takes place in the waiting room adjacent to a hospital maternity ward.

Enjoy classic songs of the 20th century as the chorus celebrates the anticipation and excitement of becoming a father. The chorus applies its four-part a cappella harmony to songs written by Irving Berlin, Gus Kahn, Walter Donaldson, Dale Evans, Sylvia Fine, Richard Carpenter, and others. The songs were hits when performed by the Mills Brothers, Al Martino, Dean Martin, Danny Kaye, Dale Evans, the Ames Brothers and other beloved performers.

The Derbytown Chorus, including its Matinee Singers and Gospel mini-choruses, is a 90-member organization of Northeast Ohio men who love to sing harmony. They have appeared at Akron Aeros and Cleveland Indians games; Stan Hywet, Fairlawn, and Copley concerts during the summer; local malls for the Salvation Army Christmas fundraising; as part of First Night Akron festivities, and have performed for many other groups throughout the year.

This show will also feature the Medina High School Quartet “HERB”, and the 2012 Johnny Appleseed Competition medalist quartet “Forte”.

Come along and take this delightful, magical and musical journey with a bevy of wonderful and popular historic songs. You have heard them before, but these melodies and lullabies will lift your heart and carry you off to dreamland. When the curtain goes down after the last act, you will have a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

Ticket prices for the family-friendly event are $8.00 and can be purchased at the PAC Box Office, 851 Weymouth Road, Medina or by calling 330.636.3400. Tickets sales will also begin one hour before the performance in the lobby of the PAC.
