About the Show:
Book and lyrics by Bill Russell - Music by Henry Krieger. Vocal and dance arrangements by David Chase. Orchestrations by Harold Wheeler.

Based on the true story of Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, who became stars during the Depression of the 1930s, Side Show is a moving portrait of women joined at the hip whose extraordinary bond brings them fame but denies them love. Told almost entirely in song, the show follows their progression from England to America, through the Vaudeville circuit and to Hollywood - on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie Freaks. The opening song sets the stage for this daring, passionate story: "Come look at the freaks! Come gape at the geeks! Come examine these aberrations, their malformations, grotesque physiques. Only pennies for peeks, come look at the freaks."

About the Audition:
Looking to build a large, racially & ethnically diverse cast of characters. All roles are open. No experience necessary. No prepared material needed. A relaxed, playful and friendly atmosphere. Wear comfortable clothing & shoes for dancing so you can move easily.

Group audition process. Actors are led through multiple improvisational exercises including acting, movement and singing.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, June 9, 2013
The show runs July 19-August 4, 2013
