farce, Black Comedy, continue with the hysterically funny, fast paced
musical comedy Lucky Stiff, and concludes with a major fresh from Broadway
musical comedy that is still yet to be announced. In addition, the group

before or after their productions with available onsite meeting rooms,
private pre-show receptions and parties and group and fundraising ticket
rates. In addition, they have a popular dinner and show option with Hudson's
Restaurant on the Green, which is also available for season and individual
show purchase.

The 69th Season will start out with Black Comedy, a enlighteningly funny
farce by Peter Shaffer being presented November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 & 16, 2013.
This side splitting comedy features reverse lighting where light is dark and
dark is light. Thus characters stumble around blindly in the light but the
audience never searches for laughs. The story from acclaimed playwright Sir
Peter Shaffer (Amadeus, Equus) starts when a power outage foils the plans of
a young sculptor to impress his fiance's father and a millionaire art
collector with furniture he 'borrowed' from his out of town neighbor. His
schemes are plunged into chaos when a fuse blows and his neighbor returns.
Unexpected guests, aging spinsters, errant phone cords and other snares
impede his frantic attempts to return the stolen items before the light is
restored, but ensure that hilarity ensues.

Next up is The Christmas Pudding: A Largely Literary Yuletide Feast, adapted
by Mark Dawidziak and Sara Showman, being presented December 7 & 8, 2013.
Featuring Christmas selections of all types by such writers as Mark Twain,
J.M. Barrie, Robert Louis Stevenson, Hans Christian Andersen, Frank
Stockton, G.K. Chesterton, Ogden Nash, William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe,
and Washington Irving, this two act world premier is family friendly and
will be packed with a wide assortment of Christmas goodies. The selections
include poems, songs and stories that strike a variety of moods: everything
from the sentimental and spiritual to the sarcastic and silly.

Following will be a production of the hysterically funny fast paced musical
comedy Lucky Stiff to be presented February 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 28 &
March 1, 2014. Written by Lynn Ahrens, with Music by Stephen Flaherty,
Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and based on the book "The Man Who Broke the Bank at
Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth, Lucky Stiff is a zany, off beat, and
very funny murder mystery farce complete with slamming doors, mistaken
identities, missing money and of course a corpse in a wheelchair. The story
revolves around an unassuming English shoe salesman who is forced to take
the embalmed body of his recently murdered Atlantic City uncle on vacation
to Monte Carlo. Should he succeed in passing his uncle off as alive and
showing him the required sites he stands to inherit $6,000,000. Of course if
he doesn't the money goes to the dogs.literally. Winner of Washington's
Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical!

Finally the Hudson Players 67th season will finish up with a production of a
soon to be announced major musical comedy fresh from Broadway and the
touring circuit." Running April 25, 26, May 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16 & 17 of
2014, this show is sure to entertain and keep audiences laughing, smiling
and singing it's songs.
