Cleveland, OH - The 4th annual Cleveland Asian Festival (CAF) lived up to
its reputation as "Best New Ethnic Festival" with 2 days of culture, food,
fun and activities for the entire family on May 18 and 19, 2013.  

 

The 38,380 attendees spent over $1.6 million in the AsiaTown neighborhood
over the CAF weekend.  Besides that immediate economic impact, 92% of CAF
survey respondents were likely (24%) or very likely (68%) to visit AsiaTown
again in the near future.  CAF organizers focused on featuring AsiaTown in
order to create year-round economic impact for the neighborhood.

 

For 28% of survey respondents it was their first time to AsiaTown.  Free
AsiaTown Trolley Tours were packed throughout the weekend and highlighted
the neighborhood's many offerings.

 

A highlight of the 2013 CAF was the performances (both days) by national act
Cheesa, who rose to stardom when she turned heads during the second season
of NBC's The Voice and impressed Cee Lo Green and the TV audience with her
powerful range and colorful personality.  

 

The 2013 Cleveland Asian Festival featured modern and traditional performers
on two main stages as well as a food area with dozens of restaurants
featuring various Asian foods.  Families enjoyed the Children's Activity
Area, Sushi and Egg Roll Eating Competitions, inflatable sumo wrestling and
more.  The Health Pavilion offered free health screenings on both days of
the festival. 

 

 

About the Cleveland Asian Festival

 

The 2014 Cleveland Asian Festival will be held May 17th &18th, 2014 on Payne
Ave between East 30th and East 27th Street in Cleveland.  Admission is free.
