If anyone in NEOPAL land know someone who would be interested in coaching a High School Flag Team from the ground up, have them contact me with resume/letter of interest at banked at walshjesuit.org  asap! There is a stipend for this position.

Position Title:            Flag Corps Advisor

FLSA Status:             Exempt

Reports to:            School Principal and Music Corp Band Director

Position Purpose: Provide supervision, training and coaching to flag corps students. 

Essential Job Functions:

·       Write flag corps routines.

·       Conduct/attend tryouts, rehearsals, summer camp, parades, competitions and football games (see Note).

·       Work collaboratively with other music corps staff in preparing students for performances.

Note:            The flag corps advisor will meet with the Flag Corps approximately 50 times August through November.

Qualifications:

·       Prior leadership experience with high school marching band programs

·       BA or MA degree in music preferred

·       Good role model

·       Excellent verbal communication skills

·       Demonstrate leadership and facilitative skills

·       Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds
