Character Synopsis:

Raynelle Turpin (f), wife of the deceased Bud Turpin: (55 to 70) rather
down-to-earth, sensible woman, takes life one-day-at-a-time

Ray-Bud Turpin (m), oldest son of Raynelle and Bud: (40 to 55) increasingly
stressed out about all of the details of the funeral, especially the
expenses; as the stresses mount, cracks begin to become visible

Lucille (f), wife of Ray-Bud: (40 to 55) positive demeanor, maybe a bit
naïve, but not by much

Junior Turpin (m), other son of Raynelle and Bud: (35 to 50) black sheep of
the family, well-meaning but not well-thought-out, weary of life’s twists
and turns but exasperated that it won’t be getting better anytime soon, in
a rut

Suzanne (f), wife of Junior: (35 to 50) long-suffering wife but puts up
with it because that is what she is supposed to do; has probably lived on
the edge of a breakdown for some time

Marguerite (f), Bud’s sister: (55 to 65) church lady type, the Devil has
met his match; meddling; knows she is always right, even though no one else
believes her

Royce (m), Marguerite’s son: (35 to 45) long-suffering son that can’t do
anything right in his mom’s eyes, has given up trying to please her or
reason with her

Delightful (f), daughter of Raynelle and Bud: (20 to 35) lazy, obese;
always had things done for her because she was the youngest; no ambition;
won’t lift a finger if she doesn’t have to, loves snack foods

Reverend Hooker (m): (40 to 60) positive outlook on everyone’s souls, finds
good in all things, looks for the silver lining

Veda (f), an elderly woman: (65 to 70) long-time friends of Bud and
Raynelle, over-simplifies care of her elderly husband; matter-of-fact
disposition

Norval (m), her elderly husband: (65 to 70) not all there, drifts in and out
