And One Night

An exciting re-imagining of
Arabian Nights: One Thousand and One Nights
Created by: The Teens of STEP 2013 in collaboration with CPT Teaching Artists

Cleveland Public Theatre's celebrated Student Theatre Enrichment Program, STEP - Cleveland's longest-running arts and job training program for urban teens - returns to Cleveland City Parks this summer with an original new play And One Night.

And One Night, created and performed by the 2013 STEP ensemble, is an exciting re-imagining of Arabian Nights: One Thousand and One Nights. This family-friendly show follows a group of small-time thieves who think they know the path to a fulfilling life. Upon meeting a young woman who knows only the power of her imagination, they go on a transformational journey, meeting merciless kings, clever heroines, and desperate souls. Packed with original music, dance, and a cappella singing, And One Night explores the importance of self-reliance and the value of storytelling to enrich and inspire our lives.

Free and Open to The Public! Fun for the Whole Family!
Bring a Lawn Chair or a Blanket and Enjoy the Show!

And One Night is the culmination of an eight week theatre arts and job training program. CPT Teaching Artists, lead by Education Director Chris Seibert, have guided these extraordinary young people on a journey of self-discovery and awareness through the dramatic arts. Students receive top-notch training in creative expression as well as valuable job skills such as timeliness, project follow-through and teamwork. Come and experience the power and creativity of Cleveland's youth!
