About the play...
Shakespeare rolls over in his grave as his bloodiest, most horrifying script (Titus Andronicus) gets a total makeover as a rock musical. In this story of revenge, limbs are torn off, tongues are cut out and everybody sings. World Premiere

About the process...

Rehearsals will begin on or around January 27th with 5 - 6 rehearsals a week, weekday evenings and one weekend afternoon. Performances are March 6th - 22nd; Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays in CPT's Gordon Square Theatre.



Auditions...
Friday 8/2: 6p-9p
Saturday 8/3: 2-5p and 6-9p

Callbacks will be on Sunday 8/4


Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 10 minute increments.
Please prepare 1 or 2 pop, rock or musical theatre songs (no more than 32 bars each). Bring sheet music in your key, an accompanist will be provided. Available Roles...
The role of Tamora has been cast.

SATURNINUS: male, any ethnicity, baritone/tenor, mid to late 20's, refined and aloof, ambitious, temperamental, heir to the throne.

BASSIANUS: male, any ethnicity, baritone/tenor, early to mid 20's, down to earth and fair minded, younger brother and rival to Saturninus, in love with Lavinia.

MARCUS: male or female, any ethnicity, baritone or alto with belt, early to mid 40's, sensible, even-handed, a peace-keeper, brother/sister to Titus.

TITUS: male, any ethnicity, bass/baritone, early 40's to early 50's, the patriarch of the family, rigid, authoritarian, stoic, battle worn.

LUCIUS, MUTIUS, QUINTUS and MARTIUS: male, any ethnicity, 18 to early 30's, baritone/tenor, Titus' sons, hot blooded, impulsive, heroic.  Mutius doubles as young Lucius, Lucius' teenage son.

AARON: male, african-american, baritone/tenor, early 20's to mid 30's, a moor and Tamora's lover, alluring and charismatic, a showman, good comic timing, dances or moves well.

ALARBUS, CHIRON and DEMETRIUS: male, any ethnicity, early 20's to mid 30's, baritone/tenor, Tamora's sons, cruel, rough, and barbaric.

LAVINIA: female, open ethnicity, early to mid 20's, alto/soprano, naïve and devoted daughter to Titus, discovers inner strength and determination after she is attacked and mutilated.
