"Just when you think by now you have seen the best Chagrin Valley Little
Theatre has to offer, along comes 'Legally Blonde: The Musical' to blow
you away. Two dozen of the best and brightest musical comedy performers
this reviewer has seen, maybe ever, grace the stage on River Street for

Omigod, you guys! CVLT's summer production is *LEGALLY BLONDE: THE
MUSICAL! *

Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the 2001 hit film of the same
name, LEGALLY BLONDE tells the story of outgoing and bubbly sorority

can handle anything.

When her boyfriend, Warner Huntington III (Brian Heigel), dumps her to
start getting "serious," Elle puts down her credit card and decides to
follow him to Harvard Law School to hit the books and win him back.

With some help from new-found friends Paulette (Theresa Dean), Emmett
(Shane Hurst) and Bruiser the chihuahua, she learns that it's so much
better to be smart. Most importantly, she proves that being true to
yourself never goes out of style.

This Tony Award nominated musical features a Book by Heather Hach with
Music by Laurence O'Keefe and Neil Benjamin. It won seven major awards,
including the coveted Best Musical 2011 Olivier Award.

/Murder by the Falls/ kicks off each new season at CVLT with an original
audience-participation comedy/mystery. Money raised from this highly
popular event goes to the general operating expenses of the theatre.

People (Detectives) will be grouped 8 per squad. You may choose your
fellow Detectives or the Chief (CVLT) will assign your partners for you.
You and your team will compete for prizes, searching the Village for
clues, and helping our intrepid detectives to solve the crime! Space is
limited and tickets always sell fast! Get yours today!

  * 7:00 - Hors d'oeuvres and beer/wine cash bar at the Theatre
  * 8:00 - Act I, in which the mystery is revealed.
  * 8:45 - Your team search for clues in the windows of stores in the
Village and interviews characters on the street.
  * 9:15 - Return to 'Headquarters' for catered dessert as your team
decides on a solution to the mystery
  * 10:00 -- Act II -- The criminal is uncovered and prizes are awarded
to the team who was closest to the answer!

This year, you and your fellow detectives will be asked to help solve
*"CEREAL KILLER"*. This original script by Greta and Andrew Rothman
takes place at the Purple Horseshoe Casino, where three highrollers
(Count Chocula and the brothers Boo and Franken Berry) have met untimely
ends. Proprietor Lucky the Leprechaun tries to keep the situation under
control, despite the antics of his bumbling staff (Snap, Crackle and
Pop), a mobster (Tony the Tiger), the jealous hostess (Trix Rabbit), and
various other guests and personnel. Last-gambler-standing Toucan Sam,
fearing he may be the next victim of the "Cereal Killer," has called in
Inspector Gotcha and his temporary partner, crime novelist Grayson Bran
(played by special guest *Leon Bibb*), to solve the mystery! Cleveland
TV personality *Jan Jones* also appears as shady gambler Mini Wheats.

Plenty of intrigue and laughs await you and your fellow 'detectives' as
you compete for prizes by watching the show and searching the Village of
Chagrin Falls for clues.

Steve Eva and the Chagrin Studio Orchestra
<http://chagrinfallsstudioorchestra.org/> in collaboration with Opera
Per Tutti <http://www.operapertutti.org/> and The Western Reserve
Chorale <http://www.westernreservechorale.org/> perform /H.M.S.
Pinafore; or, The Lass That Loved a Sailor/ (1878), Gilbert and
Sullivan's fourth operatic collaboration and their first international
sensation.

The story takes place aboard the British ship H.M.S. Pinafore. The
captain's daughter, Josephine, is in love with a lower-class sailor,
Ralph Rackstraw, although her father intends her to marry Sir Joseph
Porter, the First Lord of the Admiralty. She abides by her father's
wishes at first, but Sir Joseph's advocacy of the equality of humankind
encourages Ralph and Josephine to overturn conventional social order.
They declare their love for each other and eventually plan to elope. The
captain discovers this plan, but, as in many of the Gilbert and Sullivan
operas, a surprise disclosure changes things dramatically near the end
of the story. - See more at:
