The Olde Towne Hall Theatre announces

*AUDITIONS* for

*LEND ME A*

*TENOR*

A comedy of mistaken identity and mistaken passion

*The Play:* It is the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand
Opera Company, and world-famous Italian tenor Signor Tito Merelli will be
the guest artist in “Otello,” a major fundraiser for the troupe. But Tito’s
troubled life, his hot-headed wife, and a “Dear John” letter mistaken as
Tito’s suicide note sends everybody’s head swimming. Is Tito dead? Can Max
step into the role? Will Diana be discovered? Will Saunders be ruined? Will
the shrimp dip poison the patrons? This is a comic tour-de-force. Come out
and play!

**

*Audition Dates, Times and Locations:*

*Sunday, August 25, 2013: 2:00pm – 4:00pm.*

*Monday, August 26, 2013: 7:00pm – 9:00pm*

Auditions will be held at the Olde Towne Hall, 36119 Center Ridge Road,
North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039. No audition appointments are necessary nor is
there a need to prepare a monologue.

Each actor auditioning for Tito or Max should prepare a song of your
choiceand are required
to bring the piano music for accompaniment (no a cappella).

* *

*The Roles:*

*Saunders* – 50+. Pompous, self-important, and commanding, but anxious.
Wants it to be perfect, his definition of perfect

*Max* - late 20′s – early 30’s. He works under Saunders but wants to both
be an opera star and to woo Maggie.

*Maggie* - 20 something. She’s Saunder’s daughter, a bit spoiled. Wants to
experience life and not worried about the consequences.

*Tito Merelli* - Late 30′s - 50 something. He’s a life-loving,
over-indulgent world-class tenor with a passion for food, wine, women, and
especially opera. And women.

*Maria*, Tito’s wife - 30′s – 40′s. A moody, hot-blooded, hot-tempered
Italian. She’s a jealous, territorial animal.

*Julia* – Late 40’s+. The president of the Opera Guild and the consummate
wealthy matron.

*Diana* - 20s - 40. Desdemona to Tito’s Otello. Knows she is a good opera
singer and would do ANYTHING to be discovered.

*Bellhop* - Any age. A wise guy around the hotel but also yet another
would-be opera star.

* *

*Production and Rehearsal dates:** *

Rehearsals will start on Tuesday, September 3 and will generally be four
days a week between Sunday afternoon/evening through Thursday evening.

Lend Me A Tenor opens on Friday, October 11 with seven performances on the
following dates and time:

Friday, October 11 @ 8:00pm

Saturday, October 12@ 8:00pm

Friday, October 18 @ 8:00pm

Saturday, October 19 @ 8:00pm

Sunday, October 20 @ 3:00pm

Friday, October 25 @ 8:00pm

Saturday, October 26 @ 8:00pm
