[NEohioPAL] Auditions for "Man of La Mancha" at French Creek Nature and Arts Center

"Man of La Mancha" is a musical based on the Miguel de Cervantes seventeenth century novel Don Quixote. It tells the story of the “mad” knight Don Quixote told as a play within a play, performed by Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as he awaits a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition. The original Broadway production ran for over 2,300 performances and was the winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Songs include “Dulcinea,” “Man of La Mancha,” and “The Impossible Dream,” which have become standards all around the world. 

Auditions will be held Monday, August 12th from 7-10 pm and Tuesday, August 13th from 7-10 pm. If necessary callbacks will be Wednesday August 14th from 7-10 pm. Please e-mail Douglas Bailey at douglasfbaileyii at gmail.com to sign up for a ten minute audition slot.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, August 18th. They will run Sunday-Thursday. Sunday rehearsals will be 6-9 pm, and Monday-Thursday 7-10 PM. a detailed rehearsal schedule will be prepared based on actor conflicts and all efforts will be made to respect your time and you'll only be called when you are being used.

The production opens September 20th and runs Friday-Sunday through October 6th.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song for the audition. You may be asked to read cold from the script. Please provide sheet music, an accompanist will be provided.

"Man of La Mancha" is directed by Douglas F. Bailey II who is excited to be directing again at True North. His past Directorial credits include True North' "Children of Eden", and he has been seen onstage throughout Cleveland.
