Join  author, Deanna Adams, as she gives a rock 'n' roll presentation at 
Mentor's  newest restaurant, The Local Tavern, on Thursday, August 15th, at 
7:00  p.m..
 
 
The  author of Rock and Roll and the Cleveland Connection and others, will  
discuss her latest book, Peggy Sue Got Pregnant: A  Rock and Roll Love 
Story, and play music from the era of the 1950s  through the 1970s, with a Lake 
County angle. 
The  Local Tavern is located at  9470 Mentor Ave in Mentor, Ohio. For more

About  the Author 
Deanna  R. Adams is a writer, speaker, instructor, and author of three  
nonfiction books. Deanna loves Cleveland and rock ’n’ roll, and each one of  
her books reflect that passion and history. Her debut novel, Peggy Sue Got 
Pregnant: A Rock 'n'  Roll Love Story, released  this June, upholds that 
tradition.  
Her  first book, Rock ’n’ Roll and the  Cleveland Connection (Kent State 
University Press, 2002), was named a  finalist for the Ohioana Award for 
nonfiction, and the ARSC Award (Association  for Recorded Sound Collections) for 
excellence in research. Other books are Confessions of a Not-So-Good 
Catholic Girl (Infinity Publishing,  2008) and Cleveland’s Rock and Roll  Roots 
(Arcadia Publishing, 2010).  
Deanna  is also an event coordinator at Lakeland Community College, and 
instructor for  the Cuyahoga County Libraries Writers’ LIT Program. She is 
coordinator of  the Western Reserve Writers’  Conference and director/founder of

About  the Novel 
Set  in the era between Buddy Holly and Joan Jett, this “rock ’n’ romance”
 suspense  novel tells the story of an ill-fated love affair between a 
Southern boy and  Midwestern girl, and a long-held secret that threatens the 
legacy of a beloved  music icon and the future of his rock-star daughter.
