Stage Combat
Sword fighting for the stage! 
Learn technique, discipline and safe practices in the art of telling a story through the illusion of fighting. Class will supply swords and culminate in a performed fight presented at the end of each session. 

Ages:14 - Adult
Day/Time:Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:00 pm

Session 1:September 5 - October 17 (7 weeks)
Session 2:October 24 - December 12 (7 weeks; no class on 11/28)
Fee:$99 per seven-week session
$179 for both sessions (14 weeks)

About the Instructor:
Dusten Welch is an award winning fight choreographer through the Kennedy Center’s ACTF program and has staged violence for over 30 theatrical productions in the Cleveland area, including for Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, Ensemble Theatre, the Academy for the Performing Arts, and Baldwin Wallace University (starting this fall). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashland University, and is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. Acting credits include: Great Lakes Theatre, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, Dobama Theatre, the Academy for the Performing Arts, Solon Center for the Arts among others. He has taught at Ashland University, Great Lakes Theatre, Ohio Thespian Conference, English Speaking Union, and Brecksville Theatre on the Square. Currently he tours nationally with The Dueling Fools, a comedy-sword fighting show based out of Cleveland, and is an instructor for Solon Center
 for the Arts, and the Academy for the Performing Arts of Chagrin Falls. Dusten is the Director of Fairmount Theatre Academy.
