Red Light Roxy is a professional jazz band from Cleveland, Ohio that plays an upbeat mix of jazz standards, jump blues, swing, boogie-woogie and a dash of old-school R&B. Its repertoire comes from the Great American Songbook and includes familiar songs made famous by such legendary performers as Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong. 

The group is led by vocalist Eileen Burns and bassist Demetrius Steinmetz. With thirty-plus years of performing, they bring a wealth of experience to every event. Eileen recently toured as female vocalist with the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan. She is also an original cast member of the long-running Midnight Martini Show at Cleveland's own Pickwick and Frolic. Demetrius playing bass Demetrius is a faculty member of the distinguished Cuyahoga  Community College Jazz program and has performed with the Dukes of Wail, Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, and various touring shows in Cleveland. 

Be sure to arrive in time to take part in the easy jitterbug lesson from 8pm to 9pm. We always review the basic Jitterbug step, talk about the basics of leading and following, and then show a few new moves. Each lesson is unique and you will always pick up new moves and hints each time you attend a pre-dance lesson at a Get Hep Swing event. These lessons are appropriate for brand new dancers all the way up to advanced dancers. You will not be disappointed! 

Red Light Roxy plays from 9-12. 

Everyone is welcome to come and have fun with us at this swing dance. There is no need to have previous dance experience or a dance partner. You are welcome to join us just to enjoy the music. These events are fun even if you don't dance. 

No need to make reservations or buy tickets in advance. The event is $12 per person. No need to RSVP. Just show up and have fun! We have lots and lots of room for you and all of your friends!

The Waterloo Ballroom at the Slovenian Workman's Home is located in the very artsy and lively Collinwood neighborhood. The address is 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.

The Slovenian not only has a beautiful ballroom; they also have a well stocked bar. They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks of all kinds for sale--including a very special Slovenian beer- Lasko!

There are TWO parking lots to the right of the ballroom and there is also some street parking as well. However, if you can carpool with friends that would be recommended. We also have a security guard who keeps an eye on the hall and both parking lots.
