Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, the oldest continuously running Youth Theater in the country, will be holding auditions on September 21 & 22, 2013 for the first production of our 65th Anniversary Season:

The Pied Piper of Hamelin
Written by Robert Thomas Noll
Directed by Russel Stich
Performing on the Mackey Main Stage

The Story: The Rat Commander is leading his troops into Hamelin. Their mission: to scare the people witless and eat every scrap of food there is! The invasion is so terrifically successful that the citizens are soon desperate. Suddenly, a Pied Piper arrives, promising a solution. The Mayor agrees to his price, but when the time comes to pay the Piper, he refuses. This time, the children of the town follow the Piper's tune.

Audition/Callback Dates: (open to all Beck Center students ages 6 to 19*)

· Auditions: Saturday, September 21: 2:30 to 6:30 pm
& Sunday, September 22 from 1:00 to 5:00pm

· Possible Callbacks: Monday, September 23: 5:00 to 7:30pm

Starting Wednesday, September 11, you may sign up for a one-hour audition slot at Beck Center Customer Service or by calling 216-521-2540 x10.

*Please note:

Youth Theater roles are only eligible to students who will be enrolled in our Fall 2013 semester. Actors do not necessarily need to be enrolled at the time of the auditions, however, participation in the actual production does require Beck Center enrollment. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at Beck Center to qualify. Students enrolled in a Fall 2013 semester class in Beck Center’s Dance, Music and Visual Arts Departments are equally eligible.

Bottom line: if you are accepting a role in the show, you will need to enroll prior to the start of rehearsals. Any questions, please feel free to contact Jonathan Kronenberger, Associate Director of Theater Education, at 216-521-2540 x27.

Our 2013 Fall catalog is available online at www.beckcenter.org<http://www.beckcenter.org>.

Unlike some other youth theaters, there is NO additional participation fee required beyond enrollment.
