On Wednesday, September 11, Beck Center for the Arts kicks off the Fall 2013 semester with two wonderful classes geared towards ages 4-7.

Little Folks Theater is a fun and creative way to introduce and further the skills of our youngest actors.  Led by Elicia Bryant, students will focus on exploring the bare essence of theater: creating stories together and sharing them with an audience.

This is the perfect class to take together with a friend.

Little Folks Theater Wed 5:15 pm (Ages 4-5)
Location: Room 205 at Main Building

Little Folks introduces our youngest students to the magic of theater and is also designed for returning students as new exercises and material are explored each semester. Children engage in lively classroom activities involving creative dramatics, movement, music, listening skills, and creative art. Stresses positive self-development and interaction. The class concludes with an informal presentation for family and friends.

Continuing from and building upon the work started in Little Folks Theater, students delve deeper in their exploration of creative dramatics, movement, music, listening skills, and creative art. Stresses positive self-development and interaction. The class concludes with an informal presentation for family and friends.

About the instructor: ELICIA BRYANT
Elicia J. Bryant is a graduate of University of South Carolina Upstate with a B.A. in Communication focusing in Theatre. In addition to Beck Center, she has worked as a teaching artist with early childhood and elementary-aged students in after school and residency programs through DramaSmarts, Kulture Kids, and Weathervane Playhouse with the Akron After School Program. As a teaching artist, Elicia focuses on imaginative thought and creativity combined with positive reinforcement. As an actress, she has performed in over 20 productions throughout Northeast Ohio as well as her home state, South Carolina. Recent credits include the title role in Cinderella, Psycho Beach Party (Marvel Ann), Oliver (Nancy), Bunnicula (Mrs. Monroe), and Dr. Dolittle (Gub Gub).

Beck Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that offers professional theater productions, arts education programming in dance, music, theater, visual arts, early childhood, and creative arts therapies for special needs students, and gallery exhibits featuring regional artists.
