Shakespeare in the Square is BACK!

Having been absent for the last two summers Stage Left Theatre Company is
thrilled to bring back the beloved summer event SHAKESPEARE IN THE SQUARE.
This year's show, "Shakespeare Shorts", will give audiences a taste of
several classic works by reducing 3 tragedies "Hamlet", Romeo and Juliet,
and "Macbeth" into 30 minute one-act plays, and will also include "The most
lamentable comedy, and most cruel death of Pyramus and Thisby", a comedic
interlude from "A Midsummer Night's Dream". After the success of the wildly
popular comedy "Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged" in 2010
Stage Left decided to bring back the reduced works concept by exploring
Shakespeare's three most famous plays in this format. With a narrator to
update, explain, and segue into each scene there's not a chance that even
the most unfamiliar viewer could get confused.

Though the years Stage Left has discovered that, when reduced, many of the
tragedies are actually quite funny so there's no danger of overloading on
tragedy. In fact, with the unconventional casting, fast pacing, and
comically talented cast this production promises to be a wacky and wonderful
way to spend a late summer evening. This gifted repertory cast, including
many Shakespeare in the Square veterans returning to "play in the Square
again", perform a whirlwind of characters at a break neck pace in near
perfect comedic timing.

Shakespeare in the Square 2013 will take place September 13th, 14th, and
15th in the The Square, in Medina Ohio. Friday and Saturday performances
start at 7:30, the Sunday matinee begins at 2 PM. Audiences are encouraged
to bring a blanket or lawn chair, perhaps a picnic or some snacks. The
performances are family friendly so it's an excellent opportunity to share
the experience of live theatre with the whole family. And it won't drain
your wallet because it's FREE, but donations gladly accepted.
