On Wednesday, September 11 we kick off our Fall 2013 semester at Beck Center for the Arts Main Campus in Lakewood, including three fantastic classes designed specifically for ADULTS!  From Acting and Improvisation through Dance for Musical Theater - each class is led by theater professionals and a great opportunity to further your training or to get your feet wet for the first time. Acting Basics: Adults - Mon 6:30 pm (Ages 18-Up)
Dates/Time: Mon, September 16, 2013 - Mon, November 18, 2013 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Duration: 10 Week Session

Ages:  18 and up

Classical and contemporary techniques are explored in polishing craft along with keys to unlocking scripts and bringing them from the page to the stage. The class is suitable for actors of all experience levels. Audition pieces are welcomed and dream roles encouraged.

Adult Improv: Improv Games - Thu 7pm (Ages 18-Up)
Dates/Time: Thu, September 19, 2013 - Thu, October 17, 2013 from 7pm to 8:30pm
Duration: 5 Week Session

Ages:  18 and up

Led by Something Dada Improvisational Troupe's Aaron Patterson, actors explore improvisational games and team competition while honing their basic improvisational skills. Students may sign up for all five sessions at $75 or join for a single session at $20 each. Single session tickets are available at Customer Services prior to class.

Dance for Musical Theater: Adults - Fri 6pm (Ages18-Up)
Dates/Time: Fri, September 13, 2013 - Fri, December 20, 2013 from 6pm to 7pm
Duration: 14 Week Session
Location: Dance Studio at Creative Arts Building
Fee: Standard charge: $155.00

Ages:  18 and up

For adults who are interested in performing, or who are already performing in the professional world or in community theater for fun! Students work on proper dance technique, alignment and terminology, as well as explore different dance styles that are popular in the musical theater world today. By the end of class, students learn a dance combination from a show.

The associate director of Theater Education will be offering private coaching sessions. These scheduled work times are intended for the serious theater student in which to prepare materials for auditions and college applications.
