NEW HIRE AND STAFF PROMOTION BOLSTER

CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE ARTISTIC STAFF
CLEVELAND, OH (September 12, 2013) - Cleveland Play House Interim Artistic Director Laura Kepley is pleased to announce recent appointments and promotions at the nation's first professional regional theatre.

"I am delighted to announce that Rachel Lerner-Ley will be joining us for the 2013-14 Season as Artistic Associate," says Kepley, "Rachel is an extremely bright dramaturg and educator with a depth of experience in new work development.  Her focus will be season planning, literary operations, and audience enrichment." Prior to her appointment Lerner-Ley worked in New York City as a freelance dramaturg and educator working with such companies as The Civilians and Girl Be Heard (a company devoted to empowering  girls and women aged 9-22).  Lerner-Ley has also worked in the artistic departments of Actors Theatre of Louisville and Williamstown Theatre Festival.  She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College and has participated in artist residencies at Georgetown, Princeton, and Connecticut College.

We are also excited to announce the promotion of Corey Atkins to the role of Associate Producer.  "In his two years at CPH, Corey has done terrific work building our engagement programming which he will continue to produce," says Kepley, "Engagement is a core philosophy and practice at CPH as we strive to connect with our community in new and exciting ways." Atkins will continue to coordinate CPH's engagement activities and produce the expanded InsideCPH events and programs. His new role will also include local casting and producing CPH's New Ground Theatre Festival.
