About the play...
Inspired by the 1853 National Women's Rights Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, Ancestra tells stories of heritage, sisterhood and overcoming adversity. With a multigenerational cast this emotionally charged performance combines traditional and original songs with spoken-word poetry and powerful movement to remind us of those who came before and the power of possibilities for the future.


About the process...

Rehearsals for Ancestra will begin in late March.

Performances will be in the Gordon Square Theatre May 22nd - June 7th - Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 7:30pm.

Auditions...
10/12: 2-5p (2:00p, 2:30p, 3:00p, 3:30p, 4:00p, 4:30p)

Auditions are by appointment only and will be conducted with groups in half hour slots. Auditioners should prepare a one minute monologue and be ready for group work.
