CLEVELAND, OH (October 1, 2013)—Ohio City Theatre Project is proud to
present Eugene Ionesco’s acclaimed absurdist masterpiece in Ohio City!
What’s up behind the funky language and offbeat behavior? Are there more
profound questions about language and society?  This one act explores all
of this, and more.  La Cantatrice Chauve (Cântăreața Cheală in Romanian) —
translated from French <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language> as The
Bald Soprano or The Bald Prima Donna — is the first play written by Ionesco.

Eugene Ionesco was a Romanian
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romania>playwright who wrote mostly in
French, and is one of the foremost figures
of the Theatre of the
Absurd<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatre_of_the_Absurd>.
Beyond ridiculing the most banal situations, Ionesco's plays depict in a
tangible way the solitude and insignificance of human existence.

Ohio City Theatre Project is committed to pursuing excellence and building
community through creative innovation, mentoring, and neighborhood
involvement.  Actively involved in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood since
summer of 2012, the group continues to re-imagine the neighborhood, making
new connections with new people, and transforming Ohio City spaces through
the magic of theatre.

The Bald Soprano (trans. Allen) is presented by special arrangement with
SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

Tickets

Tickets for October 11, 18 and 19 are $15 for all seats.

Tickets for the October 12 performance are $25 and include a post show
reception with the cast and crew of The Bald Soprano.  The reception will
include the chance to mingle with the cast as well as light refreshments.

Tickets may be purchased via Brown Paper Tickets at
www.ohiocitytheatreproject.com, or at the door the evening of the
