                             JFK Assassination
                               Seminar at YSU

The 50th Anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy will be observed with JFK and Dallas, a seminar dealing with various aspects of the assassination and the aftermath.  The seminar is being conducted by the Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services and will take place on Saturday, December 7 at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio.  JFK and Dallas is part of Specter of Treason-The Oswald Trial, a full length play written by J.E.Ballantyne, Jr. and dealing with a fictitious trial of suspected JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.  The play opens at the Victorian Players at 702 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown on Friday, November 22nd and runs three weekends through December 8.

The seminar will consist of nationally known assassination researchers who will give presentations on various topics dealing with this controversial case.  It will also include exhibits of JFK related assassination information and memorabilia from Kennedy’s time in office.  Leading the list of researchers who will participate is Dr. Cyril H. Wecht of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Wecht is a nationally known Forensic Pathologist and lecturer who has gained national recognition from his investigation into the Kennedy crime as well as other high profile cases such as the Jon Benet Ramsey case and the O,J, Simpson case, among others.  The topic of his presentation will be JFK’s autopsy.  Also participating is Debra Conway of JFK Lancer Productions and Publications in Dallas, Texas.  Ms. Conway is President of JFK Lancer and is a leading authority on information concerning the case.  She is slated to speak on the failure of the Warren Commission and
why this case still matters today.   Also scheduled is Steve Jones, a nationally known researcher who has written numerous articles about the assassination that have appeared in national magazines and periodicals.   The focus of his presentation will be the proof that Lee Harvey Oswald could not have fired at Kennedy due to his location in the School Book Depository at the time of the assassination.  Other researchers will also attend as schedules and times are finalized.  Senator Harry Meshel will serve as the Moderator for the presentations with Rich Morgan of WKBN handling the same duties for an end of the day forum discussion.  Also on hand will be Glenn Stevens of WFMJ to discuss how the news media changed with the JFK assassination.

There is no cost for the seminar and the public is invited to attend.  The full day event will wrap up with a forum discussion consisting of all researchers in attendance who will discuss the full scope of the assassination and field questions from the audience.  Exact times pertaining to the seminar are still being finalized.   All additional information will be available on the website.   Due to the high volume of interest, those interested in attending should register on the Specter of Treason website.  This can be done by going to www.specteroftreason.com and clicking on the JFK and Dallas page.  There is a registration form on the left hand side of the page.  Stories are also being sought from those people who remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard that the President had been shot.  These stories are being compiled to run on a computer during both the play and the seminar.  A similar form can be filled
out on the website at the same location as the seminar registration form for this purpose.  JFK and Dallas current sponsors are The DeBartolo Corporation, the YSU History Department, Turning Technologies, Forty Two Event Production, America’s Best Value Inn and Suites, Chalet Premier, Victorian Players and The Youngstown Torch Club.  Additional sponsors are still being sought.  For more information on JFK and Dallas, Specter of Treason-The Oswald Trial, or to become a sponsor, please call 330-799-6176.
