"LILIES, OR THE REVIVAL OF A ROMANTIC DRAMA" NOW ONSTAGE
AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM, THU-SAT THROUGH NOV. 2

convergence-continuum presents the Ohio premiere of "LILIES, or the
Revival of a Romantic Drama" by Michel Marc Bouchard (translation by Linda
Gaboriau), winner of Best Canadian Play (1992).

Lilies is about love and revenge. The play is set in 1952 in the church of
a prison where it has been arranged that the jailed Simon Doucet will make
confession to his old friend Bishop Bilodeau. The Bishop, however, is
imprisoned by Simon and fellow convicts who act out before him scenes from
a play. The prisoners' play takes the action back to the Quebec
countryside of 1912 where Simon, Bilodeau and the Parisian newcomer, Count
Vallier de Tilly, were young contemporaries involved in a secret love
triangle. In acting out the circumstances immediately before Simon's
incarceration, it is intended that Bishop Bilodeau will confess what he
did forty years earlier that resulted in Simon's wrongful imprisonment.

Note: This production contains some scenes of an adult nature and nudity.

Lilies is directed by convergence-continuum’s Tyson Douglas Rand, who
directed convergence’s 2011 production of The Boys in the Band. The acting
ensemble includes Robert Branch, Bobby Coyne, Joe Dunn, Charles Hargrave,
Jack Matuszewski, Michael Regnier, Eric Sever, Clyde Simon and Dennis
Sullivan.

Lilies runs Thu-Sat at 8 pm through November 2 at the Liminis, 2438
Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood.
Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and $10 for students.
