Joshua Konow is a recent graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Music
with a Master of Music degree (2012) in piano performance. Joshua's musical
passions have grown into conducting, performing, and teaching. Since coming
to Cleveland, Joshua has been an active piano instructor privately at the
Avon School of Music, and at the University School in Shaker Heights. In
total he currently manages a studio of over thirty students. In addition to
his Music Director position for TrueNorth's Chamber Orchestra and Youth
Symphonia, Joshua is the current Music Director at the Aurora United
Methodist Church. Prior to coming to Cleveland in August of 2010, Joshua
lived in New York City for four years where he attended the Manhattan
School of Music, earning a Bachelor of Music degree, also in piano
performance. Joshua is continually trying to engage the hearts and minds of
his students and seeks to inspire fellow musicians and audiences alike in
the search for true meaning behind all music. As a pianist, Joshua has
performed in Italy, the Czech Republic, and in many concert halls
throughout America as well as for numerous, distinguished concert artists.
He is a four-time State MTNA Competition winner with distinctions in
concerto performance. Music is his absolute passion. As the great poet
Longfellow proclaimed, "Music is the universal language of mankind." Mr.
Konow's hope is to help everyone feel that special language.
