This weekend marks our third annual *24-Hour Theatre Project*. This event
features 30 - 40 Akron School for the Arts students who undertake the
entire creative theatre process in a single 24-hour period of time.

Students will create, write, direct, stage, tech, rehearse, and perform
four or five short plays between Friday and Saturday evenings. The
culmination of the project will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday,
October 9, 2014. The school is located at 333 Rampart Avenue, Akron

For the first time, students from the visual art department will be
undertaking a similar project concurrently with the *24-Hour Theatre
Project*. Art students will work on a series of collaborative art projects
during the same 24-hour span of time. Their finished projects will be on
display in the commons Saturday evening and beyond.

The Akron School for the Arts is a nationally recognized visual and
performing arts institution of the Akron Public Schools. Firestone Theatre
was selected in 2013 as an “Outstanding School” by the Educational Theatre
Association. It is located on the campus of Firestone High School at 333
Rampart Avenue, Akron.
