Many parallels run between the lives of Dr. Katherine Brandt and Ludwig van Beethoven in 33 Variations. For instance, Dr. Brandt is recently diagnosed with ALS as she races to finish her research, while Beethoven is going deaf as he obsesses over the completion of a simple waltz. Although they struggle with their deteriorating health, both are driven with passion to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of their goals. These journeys are nothing short of inspiring and life-affirming!

To find out more about ALS and hearing loss, please attend this Friday's 8 p.m. performance followed by a discussion with experts that assisted the company of 33 Variations. Their expertise not only benefits the production, but allows audience members to better understand the play. Post-show talks will surely enhance the 33 Variations experience!
