Coach House Theatre visits On Golden Pond

November 21 to December 15, Thursday-Friday-Saturday night, Sunday afternoon

  

Join Coach House Theatre in Akron this holiday season, as the theatre
continues its 86th season with the beloved romantic comedy On Golden Pond,
by Ernest Thompson.

On Golden Pond is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer (DEDE KLEIN and
RICHARD FIGGE), who are returning to their summer home for the 48th year.
The production, directed by Artistic director NANCY CATES, also features
Michael Cranston, Manny Liotta, Sarah Lyon and Scott Shriner.

The play, which has been produced in more than 40 countries, originally
opened in 1979. Thompson adapted the play into an Academy Award-winning 1981
movie starring Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn. A live television version,
starring the legendary duo of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, aired
in 2001, and the play received a Broadway revival starring James Earl Jones
in 2005.

On Golden Pond will be presented Nov. 21. to Dec. 15. Curtain times are
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

Dinner or brunch is available to all theatre patrons prior to every
performance, at the Akron Woman's City Club next door. 

There will be a special $12 preview performance Thursday, Nov. 21 only, at 8
p.m. The official opening night is Friday, Nov. 22. Group rates for holiday
gatherings or office celebrations are available.
