Audiences turn ON their cell phones in Cleveland Public Theatre's daring new play

DOUG IS A D-BAG

November 29 - December 14



Cleveland, OH - This holiday season, Cleveland Public Theatre mixes live performance and interactive technology with Doug is a D-Bag, a daring new play that invites audiences to turn ON* their cell phones and interact with characters (and each other) during the performance.



Set in a fictional HR Company, Doug is a D-Bag follows the story of Lorie Richards (played by Emily Pucell) and Doug Pridupaula (Matt O'Shea) as they navigate the pitfalls of a workplace romance. When a wayward text message falls into the wrong hands, Lorie and Doug's breakup goes public and sends the office into crisis. Can they, with the help of HR Guru's Martins Cameron-Overstreet-Perry-Pitts and his trusted wife Monica Russet-Cameron-Overstreet-Perry-Pitts create a new rule book for cell phones, technology and love in the workplace? Doug is a D-Bag was conceived and directed by Renee Schilling, CPT's 2011-2012 Joan Yellen Horvitz Director Fellow. The cast features Davis Aguila, John Busser, Katelyn Cornelius, Doug Kusak, Matt O'Shea, Michael Prosen, Emily Pucell, Peter Roth and Carrie Williams.



Doug is a D-Bag opens Friday, November 29 and runs through Saturday, December 14 in CPT's intimate Storefront Studio, 6415 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland's Gordon Square Arts District.



Performances are 7:00 pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. Opening night reception is Friday, November 29 with free food and drinks after the show.



There will be an additional Late Night showing of Doug is a D-Bag on Saturday, December 7, 10:30pm.

Tickets are $12 - 28. Take advantage of $12 tickets on Mondays and Thursdays! Student and Senior discounts ($3 off) are available for Friday and Saturday performances.



Every Friday is FREE BEER (and wine, too!) FRIDAY at CPT. Audience members are invited to mingle with the artists after the show and enjoy a drink or two on CPT.
