[NEohioPAL] DEAR GABBY: CONFESSIONS OF AN OVER-ACHIEVER at Akron School for the Arts

It’s time to stop being nice and get real. The Akron School for the Arts
presents *Dear Gabby: The Confessions of an Over-Achiever* for two
performances in December. The show will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on
Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, 2013, on the stage of the
Linda B. Kersker Auditorium at Firestone High School.


Tickets for both performances are $5.00 and are available at the door of
both performances. Advanced tickets are available via a downloadable order
form and online at BrownPaperTickets.com.


Only 100 seats will be available for each performance so advanced tickets
are highly recommended.



*Dear Gabby: The Confessions of an Over-Achiever* is a live theatre
experience exploring real teen concerns such as first love, peer pressure,
rejection, relationships, drugs, cheating, and self-esteem. It features an
ensemble cast and is under the direction of guest artist Elynmarie Kazle.
The cast includes Firestone High School seniors Destiny Hampton,  Jasmine
Walker, and Andrew Walsh, as well as junior Haley Calhoun, sophomores Emma
Antal, Amelia McNutt, Kara Winter, Mikayla Wynn, and freshmen Joe Antal and
Briannah Clinton. Junior Kyla Davis serves as the production’s stage
manager.



“*Dear Gabby: The Confessions of an Over-Achiever* is ultimately a play
about being human,” says theatre director Mark A. Zimmerman. “It challenges
you to explore what you have in common with others instead of being put off
by differences.”



The Akron School for the Arts is a nationally recognized visual and
performing arts institution of the Akron Public Schools. Firestone Theatre
was selected in 1993 as an “Outstanding School” by the Educational Theatre
Association. It is located on the campus of Firestone High School at 333
