Cleveland Public Theatre announces Auditions for the world premiere of
Left in Ink



Conceived and Directed by Caitlin Lewins, Joan Yellen Horvitz Directing Fellow



Looking to Cast...



An ethnically diverse cast.

Age ranges are general, must play to these ages (not necessarily be these ages)



Son: late 30’s-early 50’s

Niece: early 20’s

Mother: late 30’s-60s

Spouse/Friend: 20’s-40s





Equity Contracts are not available for this production.





About the Play...

A devised documentary performance about people who have memorial tattoos for suicide victims. Created from interviews, photographs and online posts, this play tells intimate stories of confrontation, remembrance and loving honor. Lewins brings authenticity, sensitivity, a quirky sense of humor and passionate storytelling to this deep exploration of an entire subculture.





About the process...



Much of this piece will be developed with collaboration from the cast. Actors should be prepared to deal with sensitive and private material. Interviews will be available for actors to listen to during the process.



Rehearsals will begin early or mid-March.

Performances will be in the Storefront Studio May 15th-May 31st Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 7:00pm.





Auditions...

Sunday, December 15th 1-3pm

Monday, December 16th 6-8pm





Auditions are by appointment only and will be conducted in 5 minute slots. Auditioner's should prepare a 1 minute monologue and 16-32 measures of any song, a capella.
