*THE PLAYERS GUILD ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR *
*THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK*

The Players Guild Theatre announces upcoming auditions for their Mainstage
production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, under the direction of Tammie
McKenzie, Chair of Communication Arts and Director of Theatre at Malone
University.

In this transcendently powerful new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne
Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl
who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her
time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama
about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed
storage attic, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK captures the claustrophobic
realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter,
their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne’s voice shines through.

Auditions will be held at the Players Guild Theatre within the Cultural
Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave N., on Monday, January 13 and Tuesday,
January 14 from 6-9 PM. All roles are available for those ages 14 and
up. Interested
parties should sign up for a time slot by leaving a message at the Players
Guild Theatre Box Office, 330.453.7617 or by filling out the available
online form at www.playersguildtheatre.com. Those auditioning are asked to
please bring a current headshot and resume (if available) with them to
their audition, and should prepare a dramatic 30 second monologue.

Prior to the scheduled auditions, on Sunday, January 12, beginning at 6:00
PM, the Players Guild will host an audition workshop at the theater open to
all interested participants. Those attending this free event will learn
about the play and the audition process, meet the director and hear about
the director’s concept of the show, receive audition pieces from the show,
view the full rehearsal schedule and have the opportunity to ask any
questions about the play and/or the audition process. Participants need
not sign up for this workshop, but simply arrive at the theatre at 6:00 PM.

All roles are available and include both males and females ages 15 to late
adult.

The production is scheduled to open on Friday, February 21, 2014 and will
run for three weekends through Sunday, March 9, with Friday and Saturday
evening performances at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. In addition,
there are four school matinee performances scheduled for Tuesday, February
25th and Wednesday, February 26th, Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5
at 10:00 am. The Players Guild Theatre is located at 1001 Market Ave N.,
