On Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 7p.m. you can hear the whole story of Ohioan Emma Gatewood at the Rocky River Historical Society; Rocky River Senior Center; 21014 Hilliard Blvd.; Rocky River, Ohio.  Bette Lou Higgins will tell the tale of the this 67 year old grandmother's record-setting hike in 1955 when she became the first woman to solo thru-hike the 2,050-mile Appalachian Trail. This  presentation is open to the public at no charge.
