CPH Script Club: Yentl
RSVP Required, See Below for Date, Location, and How to RSVP!

The FREE CPH Script Club is everything you love about a book club - but with a play in the spotlight! When you check out a copy of the script from one of our partner libraries listed below you'll have one week to read it at home (this limit ensures that as many patrons can participate as possible). Then join CPH artistic staff members at the library for a free-flowing conversation exploring the play and how CPH artists take it from page to stage.

We'll be reading Yentl, a startlingly modern love story, and a smart, witty comedy that will win your heart. In this play, by Leah Napolin and Isaac Bashevis Singer, a young woman defies convention and the laws of her people to fulfill her dream. Disguised as a young man, she becomes a brilliant student - and the most wanted bachelor in town. As Yentl herself says, "It's a story - About the mystery of appearances. The Deceptions of the heart. And the divine androgyny of the soul!"
