convergence-continuum will be holding auditions for the surreal romantic
comedy "Lobster Alice" next Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26 at 2:00. We are
looking for a female actor for the role of "Alice." "Lobster Alice" opens
Fri, March 14 and runs Thu-Sat through April 5, and is directed by
convergence-continuum's Artistic Director, Clyde Simon.

It’s 1946 and Alice Horowitz (30's), efficient, coffee-bearing secretary,
wants life to be interesting. John Finch, a conservative, mild-mannered
animator at work on Disney's Alice in Wonderland, wants Alice. When the
great and outrageous Salvador Dali arrives at the studio to work on a
short animated film (this part is actually true), life becomes curiouser
and curiouser. Dali scandalizes the conservative Finch; Alice,
coffee-bearing secretary, becomes Alice, girl down the rabbit hole; and
Finch and Alice both experience the very surreal whimsies of the human
heart. (Full cast of four: Alice, John, Dali and Thornton/Caterpillar.
THE MALE ROLES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS OPEN CALL.)

Auditions will consist of reading from the script from printed sides at
the audition. You can check out the full script online (except for the
last few pages) by going to http://www.playscripts.com/play/142 and
clicking on "Free Sample."

Rehearsals will start the week of January 16. A first read-thru will be
held about a week prior.

Please respond to csimon at convergence-continuum.org regarding your
interest/availability for the audition.
