Caryl Crane Youth Theatre will bring to life the magical world of ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA, beginning February 7, 2013 in the McBride Auditorium on BGSU Firelands College Campus.


Prepare to have all your preconceived notions about the world famous Candy Man and his mysterious factory turned upside-down as a diverse cast of children, teens & adults bring new life and vitality to this musical stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's timeless tale, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Follow our hero, Charlie Bucket, and the 4 other golden ticket winners, as they discover the secrets of Willy Wonka's factory, meet the Oompa Loompas and learn the shortcomings of their vices. Featuring classic songs "Pure Imagination" and "The Candy Man," this tale is a frothy, thoughtful blend of scary and fun for both children and adults


WILLY WONKA is adapted, directed and choreographed by 2014 Resident Artist Pierre-Jacques Brault from Cleveland. OH. Mr. Brault is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Mercury Summer Stock, as well as Resident Director with Heights Youth Theatre, The Fine Arts Association of Willoughby and Tri-C, among others. He is the 2013 recipient of the News Herald's Best Director of a Musical award for his American Premiere of Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure.


Featuring a cast of 81 from 19 area schools, WILLY WONKA features Caryl Crane Youth Theatre Artistic Director Brian Marshall in the title role, and plays on the McBride Auditorium stage in the North Building on BGSU Firelands Campus Feb 7-16, 2014. Tickets range from $6-$12 and can be purchased at the BGSU Firelands Box Office, or by calling 419-372-0747. Box office for WILLY WONKA opens Monday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m.
