CREATING ORIGINAL WORK Focused on the actor-as-creator and the ensemble-driven process, Holly Holsinger and Chris Seibert will guide participants through techniques that will lead to the creation of original work. Participants will engage in physical and vocal exercises as well as writing explorations in an investigation of individual and group imagination. This is a unique opportunity to enter into a dynamic, creative environment where participants will explore the process of devising new work and experience working as an ensemble. Space is limited.

HOLLY HOLSINGER is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Cleveland State University where she specializes in teaching acting, voice, and movement, as well devised theatre techniques. She has been a Cleveland theatre artist for the past twenty years and has created/performed in over fifteen original plays including Blue Sky Transmission and her solo piece Frankenstein's Wake, both of which toured Off-Off Broadway (collaborations with Raymond Bobgan).  Holly is a certified as an Associate Teacher of the Fitzmaurice Voice technique. She received an MFA in Acting from the University of California, Irvine where she studied with Robert Cohen, Dudley Knight and Jerzy Grotowski.  She is currently working on a new piece with Chris Seibert and Renee Schilling entitled Ancestra which centers on the National Women's Rights Convention of 1853, Cleveland, OH. Ancestra will open at Cleveland Public Theatre in May, 2014.

CHRIS SEIBERT Director of Education at Cleveland Public Theatre, is a performer, playwright and director primarily working in the devised theatre method. Since returning to Cleveland in 2002, she has collaboratively created over 20 works of theatre including the The Tranced (featured in CPT's Earth Plays), the multi-media solo performance Cut to Pieces (co-created with Raymond Bobgan), and Insomnia: The Waking of Herselves (created with Holly Holsinger and Raymond Bobgan).Through CPT's core education programs, Chris works with Cleveland inner-city teens and adults in recovery to create original performances based on the participant's life experiences. In 2010, she was awarded a Creative Workforce Fellowship, a program of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, generously funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Chris' professional work was also featured in Convivium33 Gallery's 21st Century Expressions of the Second Sex, a showcase of selected works by leading regional female artists.
