Musical Director ~ TBA

A 2014-2015 season Mainstage Production – Run dates September, 2014 (TBA)

Thursdays at 7:30 p.m, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.,

Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

Plot: “The Haves vs. The Have Nots”, “99% vs. 1%”: ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT is a comic tale of the British class system. Meet Sir, a pompous gentleman who is always on the winning side, and Cocky, his meek partner who always seems to be on the losing side of the “game” the two men play. Accompanied by the Urchins, the two players move through their “Game of Life”.

Although the story features the two male leads, it’s very much an ensemble piece. The leads, the featured performers and the chorus of “urchins” all need to have strong clear voices that can blend and harmonize. Although there is no big dance production number, many of the musical numbers will be staged with choreographed movement and dance moves. Passable British or Cockney accents will be required by all.

Auditions BY APPOINTMENT in 10-minute increments

Sunday, February 16 beginning at 7 p.m. and

Sir: A distinguished looking gentleman of high manners, stuffy, full of himself, always overbearing. (Age: 30-50)

Cocky: Raggedly, ruffled looking fellow capable of better things than he is permitted to achieve, not at all low down just beaten down. (Age: 20-30)

The Kid: One of the ragamuffin urchins with a big personality. Cockney accent. (Age: 15-25)

The Girl: Not a pretty waif-like innocent, but an experienced woman of the world. (Age 20-25)

The Black Man: An outsider who challenges the rules of the “game”. A strong baritone. (Age: Irrelevant)

The Bully: An urchin who looks and acts big enough to take on Cocky.

The Urchins: Mixed chorus of ragamuffin children and teens with strong voices capable of holding harmonies in four-part choral numbers. Must be able to learn choreographed movement and take direction to create controlled improvised reaction to the activities of the principals. (Age: 12-24)
